-Animation-
A wonderful style, intentionally not as articulate in certain spots to add to the effect. The portrayal of the Guymelefs' (the Mecha) movement is great. Some sections employ Computer Assisted graphics and they are very well used.
Score: 10 of 10 (A)
-Story line/Plot-
What begins as a story of one man's thirst for justice pulls back to show us a bigger picture that questions how well we actually know even our own wishes.
Score: 10 of 10 (A)
-Characters-
Many characters grow and change throughout the course of the series, and some that aren't even true main characters. Escaflowne delivers us a grand group of individuals with their own ideas and personas. This is one of my favorite series so I know I'm overdoing it a bit but hey, I'll compensate for that in the score...
Score: 9 of 10 (A)
-Music-
Those of you who love the Music of the Final Fantasy game series shall soon understand, if you don't already, why Escaflowne was one of the first Series that had music earn a spot in my MP3 section. The music is simply wonderful. Composed by Yoko Kanno and performed by the Warsaw Philharmonic. The music is phenomenal.
Score: 10 of 10 (A)
-Content-
Yea, there is some cursing. The words are few and far in between. But even so, I can't really lie to you.
Score: 8 of 10 (A)
-Final Score-
The Vision of Escaflowne receives a 94% (A).
